AIMEE PETERSON

Hello! I describe my approach as goal oriented and person centered, and utilize a variety of approaches to assist clients in processing emotions and coping with stressors they are experiencing. I became a therapist because I value working with other people and find offering support to others rewarding. It is my belief that a person’s issues should not be something to avoid. Many people are told to “get over it” or “brush it under the rug”, and it’s not effective in managing the pain a person continues to hold. My goal is to support you by building a trusting relationship and walking with you on your journey to healing and hope.

I enjoy work with adolescents and adults; and enjoy working with minority groups. My experience includes working in the inpatient and outpatient hospital setting with individuals and groups, as well as practicing with individuals in an outpatient clinic. Areas of interest include working alongside those with personality disorders, crisis management, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationships, grief and loss, adoption, identity issues, and LGBTQ+.
